Unlock Your Best Self: How Skincare Boosts Health and is the Key to Achieving Your Health Goals
(A tool not just for the beauty-obsessed)
I was talking with a woman today and it came up that some people are not interested in taking care of their health but are more motivated by looking good and having clear skin.
She said to me, “That must be this younger generation stuff because I don’t care about that.”
I found her comment interesting because if you take the age factor out of her statement, there are many people likely to relate to her. They can care less about looking good or skincare that they do the bare minimum (or nothing) and miss that at the core, skincare is a nutritional treatment and a tool to view the state of your health.
RESPECT the Power of Your SKIN
Your skin is the original diagnosis tool that was created to be your alarm system, security dashboard, and gorgeous sunroom into what’s happening in your body.
For example:
We can visibly see when we need more sleep by the bags under the eyes.
We can visibly see when someone is a smoker by the lines and color of their lips.
But did you know that you can visibly see when you need to detox your intestines because of the stage of acne on your face?
OR
Did you know that you can specifically see what vitamins and minerals you are missing by the state and texture of your skin?
The challenge is that some of us put so much value on the superficial that we can’t see the warning signs. Or worse, we are so used to seeing and feeling the warning signs that we miss the opportunity for change until it’s too late.
We are taught that certain issues of the skin are “normal” or “hereditary” but miss that many of these normal and hereditary factors are there because of statistics that you likely eat the way the generations before you ate and thus they can predict what will happen because of your patterns.
Your goal should be to change the patterns, learn how to care for your body, and apply what you learned to eat and care for yourself properly to reap the results of your consistency.
Going back to skincare, I want to help you challenge the learned ideas that sees skincare as limited. It’s more than having a clean face and my goal within this newsletter is to help change the perspective to a holistic approach to healthcare that uses your skin as a progress-tracking tool.
True skincare begins within because skincare isn’t truly about the skin but restoring and maintaining the health of your body.
